Moataz Karmalawy is President and Chief Executive Officer of ProNova Solutions, LLC, and Senior Vice President of Provision Healthcare, LLC. Moataz is leading the strategic business development to revolutionize proton therapy in the market with ProNova’s state-of-the art proton therapy solutions and drive innovative partnerships to grow and develop comprehensive cancer care centers.

Moataz has established over 50 global comprehensive cancer centers with some of the world’s most prestigious institutes in North America, Asia and Europe as well as establishing manufacturing facilities and service organizations. He leverages over 25 years in creating significant value globally in healthcare and has cultivated and led high-performance teams during significant change events including acquisitions, post-merger integrations, joint ventures, and new product launches. The roles he has filled include a wide range of business sizes including President of businesses within Fortune 500 companies with full P&L responsibility, and Head of Operations and R&D as well as marketing roles within a Malcolm Baldrige award winning organization. He also founded, managed, sold, and integrated a startup company earlier in his career.

Moataz was previously President of Advanced Oncotherapy for several years. Prior to that, for 12 years, he served as the President of the Worldwide Particle Therapy business at Varian Medical Systems, the world’s market leader of medical devices and software for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiotherapy, radiosurgery, proton therapy and brachytherapy.

Prior to joining Varian, Moataz worked for ADAC/Philips Medical Systems for 10 years in a variety of roles including Vice President of Research and Development., Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Strategic Development. ADAC was the world market leader in Nuclear Medicine and is a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award-winning company. ADAC was acquired by Philips Healthcare, a leading health technology company in diagnostic imaging, image-guided therapy, patient monitoring, and health informatics, as well as in consumer health and home care.

Prior to Philips, Moataz spent 5 years at Park Medical Systems in Montreal, Canada directing their Nuclear Medicine Systems operations. He also founded and managed ACK Controls, a company specializing in the development of fully integrated hardware/software-based solutions for machinery monitoring, diagnosis, and prognosis. Moataz holds over 10 patents and has been published in major technical journals and conference proceedings worldwide.

Moataz holds an MBA, Technology Management, PhD, Master of Engineering, and Bachelor of Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada and Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Octagon Executive Program.

Moataz is a member of several boards including: Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Alliance for Proton Therapy Access, the Executive Board Member of the SPTC Proton Therapy Center, and a Medical Scientific Board member of Ergea France (https://ergeagroup.com/).
