ProNova is redefining the future of cancer treatment by delivering a lower-cost, smaller, lighter and more energy efficient proton therapy solution without sacrificing today’s most important clinical capabilities. With more than 300,000 people being diagnosed with cancer each year that are candidates for proton therapy, a low-cost treatment option is desperately needed.ProNova is currently building, installing, and procuring equipment for several proton centers across the United States. The growth has created the need to expand our world leading team and our innovative product offering. We are seeking strong technical leaders in the following fields at our Maryville, TN location:

Mechanical Engineer

  • Strong technical background developing custom machinery and specialty devices
  • Ability to perform extensive calculations using analytical and Finite Element Methods to demonstrate design integrity
  • Knowledge of multiple domains including; mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanisms, tolerances and fluid flows

Electrical Engineer

  • Background in developing specialty electronic devices using custom and off the shelf components
  • Working knowledge of industrial control systems, wiring schematics, high voltage power, system dynamics, drafting practices and building layouts
  • Ability to create schematics and perform electrical calculations
  • Experience developing processes, including software, for testing electronic designs

Systems Engineer

  • Background in large, multidiscipline work strongly desired; Aerospace, petroleum, industrial process, defense or medical industries preferred.
  • Ability to write requirements, develop test plans, perform system level calculations, and oversee testing
  • Basic knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCad desired but not required


  • Background in development and design of accelerator physics applications desired
  • Ability to develop accelerator and beam transport calculations and perform in-depth analysis
  • Knowledge of beam transport and beam dynamics in accelerator systems, magnetic field design, High Power (100kW, 100MHz) Radio Frequency cavity design, and ion sources strongly desired
  • Knowledge of proton beam diagnostics for proton therapy systems is strongly desired
  • Basic knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCad desired but not required

Software Engineers

  • Advanced knowledge of industrial control systems and control devices (Motors, valves, pumps, power supplies, linear actuators)
  • Proven track record of writing logic for custom applications and new technology
  • Experience with distributed control systems and multi-domain controls
  • Knowledge of logic diagrams, requirements development, and developing test procedures
  • Significant experience with Labview and/or C#
